"We know that altered functional connectivity in the DMN has been linked to reduced cognitive performance and depressive symptoms, so it was concerning to see traffic pollution interfere with the same," said Dr. Jodie Gawryluk, a psychologist at the University of Victoria and first author of the study.
"While more research is needed to fully understand the functional impact of these changes, it is possible that they may impair people's thinking or ability to work," he added.(*)
