RADARLAMPUNG.CO.ID, BANDAR LAMPUNG – The social media company Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram, will apply tariffs to blue-marked accounts.

Facebook and Instagram accounts that already have a blue check mark will be subject to paid services.

This was revealed directly by Mark Zuckerberg, the company's CEO.

This was monitored by radarlampung.co.id from Mark Zuckerberg's Facebook account on February 21, 2023.

The company, through Mark Zuckerberg, announced that their latest paid service was created with the aim of verifying blue ticks.

The paid service is referred to as "Meta Verified."

"This week we launched Meta Verified," wrote Marc Zuckerberg on his personal Facebook account.

"A subscription service that allows you to be able to verify accounts with a government ID, get a blue badge, get extra protection against impersonator accounts claiming to be you, and get direct access to customer support," Mark continued in his writing.

Later, a paid service known as "Meta Verified" will give a blue tick to users of the social media applications Facebook and Instagram.

For the tariff, the company sets the price at 11.99 US dollars per month. This price is equivalent to IDR 182 thousand for purchases via the web.

The tariff is of course different if "Meta Verified" is purchased through the Android or iOS application, because the tariff is US$14.99 or the equivalent of IDR 227 thousand.

The "Meta Verified" feature is currently still in the testing phase for Facebook and Instagram application users who are in Australia and New Zealand.
