The Candidate for Chancellor of the University of Lampung Prof. Suharso, As Known As the Youngest Professor

BANDAR LAMPUNG, RADARLAMPUNG.CO.ID - Prof. Suharso became the rector candidate with the highest number of votes in the first stage of the election which was held by the University of Lampung Senate, on Thursday, December 22th 2022.

The man who currently serves as Deputy Chancellor IV for Planning, Collaboration and ICT University of Lampung has a long history of pursuing education.

Not from an affluent family, Prof. Suharso initially had to struggle at the beginning of his college years to become a construction worker.

In fact, limited funds made him bury his desire to study at the Bandung Institute of Technology Mining Engineering.

He then went to college and chose the Chemistry study program at the University of Lampung in 1984-1994.

The man who was born in Tanjung Karang 53 years ago tried to register as a lecturer and teach in 1994.

Prof. Suharso also began attending courses and training at home and abroad, until he was finally accepted at Curtin University of Technology, Applied Chemistry, Perth Australia in 1998.

"While studying in Australia, I used to be a cleaning service to make ends meet," recalled Prof. Suharso.

When he had received a thank you from the leadership where he worked. "If it weren't for you, our work here would be disrupted," he said.

This is also the background for Prof. Suharso to try to humanize humans. It even becomes a record to serve everyone, not act as a king.

This principle was applied in college and became the youngest professor at the age of 39 in 2001.
