BANDAR LAMPUNG, RADARLAMPUNG.CO.ID – The University of Lampung (Unila) has appointed a permanent rector, who will be sworn in at the end of January 2023.
In his press conference, Chairman of the Unila Senate Prof. La Zakaria said Prof. Lusmeilia Afriani was elected as the definitive rector of the University of Lampung.
The results of the rector election were immediately sent to the Ministry of Education and Culture and Research and Technology.
"We will immediately propose him to the ministry as the elected rector of the University of Lampung," said Prof. La Zakaria in the main meeting room of the Unila Rectorate on Wednesday, December 28, 2022.

The Chairperson of the Unila Senate admitted that he was quite touched by the current results, without any significant obstacles.
"Hopefully what was conveyed by the senate and ministers can inscribe the history of Unila, which is even more advanced, trustworthy, and blessed by Allah," he said.
Meanwhile, Prof. Lusmeilia Afriani expressed her gratitude because she had made significant progress and achievements in her life.
"I thank the Senate, ministries, committee, and all my supporters. "This is a heavy mandate for me, where we together make Unila Jaya," he said.

Prof. Lusi, the first female rector, admitted during the question-and-answer session that she has a future strategy for women and does not discriminate between genders.
"I don't differentiate between men and women. There are many things that will be implemented for women, such as research centers and building a task force to protect children and women. "I am also supported by several institutional elements to carry out work programs," he said.
When asked what his strategy was used as the basis for convincing the minister, as well as Prof.'s 100-day program, Lusi replied that improving Unila's image would be carried out.
"The first is how to improve Unila's image and convince the public that Unila is the best, and we will maintain the achievements of the nine best tertiary institutions in Indonesia," explained Prof. Lusi, who admits that she will take on the work program of eight rector candidates who are her rivals.
