RADARLAMPUNG.CO.ID, MEKKAH - Indonesia's haj quota for 2023 will reach 221,000 pilgrims without age restrictions. This is in accordance with the agreement between the Government of Indonesia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil said Indonesia's haj quota for 1444 Hijri was 221,000 pilgrims.

The details are: 203,320 regular pilgrims and as many as 17,680 special pilgrims. Then the Hajj officers in Indonesia get 4,200 quotas.

The agreement also regulates the landing of aircraft in Jeddah and Medina.

Then there are a number of new policies relating to Hajj services in 1444 Hijri.

According to Yaqut Cholil, at the meeting, both parties agreed that there would be no age limit for prospective Indonesian pilgrims.

Previously, the COVID-19 pandemic caused the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to issue an age limit policy.

Prospective Indonesian pilgrims must be under the age of 65 during the 2022 Hajj season.

"According to the agreement, this year there is no age limit for pilgrims," said Yaqut Cholil, as reported by Kemenag.go.id, Sunday, January 8, 2023.

This means that on Yaqut, prospective pilgrims over the age of 65 can still depart for the 2023 Hajj season.
