RADARLAMPUNG.CO.ID, JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) has completed the task of distributing New Electricity Installation Assistance (BPBL). As of December 2022, PLN had distributed government BPBL to 80,183 households (RT) in the 3T areas (foremost, outermost, and disadvantaged).

In detail, there were 23,091 RTs on the islands of Sumatra and Kalimantan (Sumkal), 45,182 RTs in the Java, Madura, and Bali (Jamali) regions, and 11,910 RTs in the Sulawesi, Maluku, Papua, and Nusa Tenggara (Sulmapana) regions.

This realization exceeded the target of 80,000 underprivileged families set by the government in 2022.

The BPBL program was welcomed by the beneficiaries. One of them is Masni, a resident of Patrasana Village in Kresek District, Tangerang, Banten.

Representing the residents of Patrasana Village, he is grateful to the government and all parties involved in the BPBL program.

"Our village is bright, and hopefully our lives will be more productive," said Masni.

On the other hand, Tanihar, a recipient of the BPBL program in North Kolaka, Southeast Sulawesi, is grateful for the installation of free electricity at his residence.

Previously, the 81-year-old woman received electric lighting by connecting to her child's residence.

Meanwhile, Chairman of Commission VII DPR RI, Sugeng Suparwoto, expressed his appreciation for the collaboration and hard work in efforts to bring about equal access to electricity in Indonesia.

"Thank you for the excellent collaboration between the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the local government, and PLN in bringing about equal access to electricity for the community through the BPBL program," said Sugeng.

He hopes that this step will provide benefits to the community and improve people's welfare.

The Director of Electricity Program Development at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Wanhar, also appreciated PLN's success in exceeding the target.

It is hoped that the same enthusiasm will be brought by PLN to achieve this year's BPBL program target.

The program is an assignment from the government by the Directorate General of Electricity of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, with the implementation and support of PLN.
