Highest Mountain on The Island of Sumatra

Mount Talamau has an altitude of 2,920 meters above sea level, and at an altitude of 2,750 meters above sea level, there are 13 lakes with names taken from several legends that are believed by residents around Mount Talamau.

Mount Talamau also has three peaks, namely Rajo Dewa Peak, Rajawali Peak, and Trimarta Peak.

6. Mount Merapi

Mount Marapi, an active stratovolcano located in two districts of West Sumatra Province, is what most people think of when they hear Merapi.

With three hiking trails, Mount Marapi has access via the Tigo Furnace, Aia Angek, and Kotobaru or Batupalano routes.

However, it is the path from Aia Angek that can be the recommended route because it is the fastest route that can be taken in only 4-5 hours to reach the peak.

7. Mount Geureudong

Mount Geureudong, also called Bur Ni Telong, is the seventh-highest mountain on the island of Sumatra.

Located in Boner Meriah District, Aceh Province Mount Geureudong has an altitude of 2,885 meters above sea level and a hiking trail through Bukit Mulie Village for around 6-7 hours.
